  • Abstract: The “still-life effect” is identified based on a set of descriptive sequences of objects that function as vestiges of a past or uncertain existence in a narrative. It is not the result of a simple transposition of art but is essentially a matter of perception and impression in a literary regime. It proceeds from a deconstruction and redefinition of both space and time. This article aims to define this notion and consider its relevance in literature.
