Abstract: We analyze the intense relationship that Ungaretti developed with Apollinaire, to the point that he considered the French poet one of his tutelary deities and linked the Calligrammes with his Porto sepolto. Apollinaire left his mark on Ungaretti’s intellectual career throughout the latter’s life.
