  • Abstract: Reading and translating Apollinaire helped Tatsuo Hori recast his sensibility, letting his own creation soar, thereby manifesting a plastic will to create an anti-mimetic universe by means of abstract and pure expressions. This completely new poetics, which contrasts with that of Japanese naturalism, rediscovers the idea of “nature” specific to the tradition based on Waka in order to create a new tradition of Japanese lyricism. His story “La Fenêtre” bears witness to this.
