Abstract: In Apollinaire’s work, the Italian and French languages fruitfully coexist. Our study proposes to follow the traces of this Italian, his mother tongue, scattered throughout his work as a writer and journalist and whose importance is confirmed by his private testimonies. Apollinaire implements a writing strategy based on linguistic experimentation and aimed at both his positioning in the French literary field and his personal identity space.
