Abstract: The Bible was of paramount importance to the Waldensians. Vernacular language translations were one of their priorities. Although scriptural commentaries prior to the sixteenth century have not been preserved, sermons and various poetic texts allow us to study their hermeneutical options and methods of exegesis: these are those generally found in medieval exegesis, with an important place given to spiritual exegesis.
