Abstract: Theodore Gérold, the first holder of the chair of musicology in Strasbourg after Alsace’s return to France, publishes only a few articles in the RHPR. Nevertheless, his contributions allowed readers to learn about the debates that were taking place around the repertoires of sacred music and theological issues associated with them. He has also published an innovative study on church fathers and music in the EHPR.
