Abstract: How is the question of truth presented in New Testament theology, especially in the fourth gospel ? This article seeks to give the beginnings of an answer to this question through a study of John 14:6, of some elements in its reception by John Calvin, and of a reflection born of Augustine of Hippo’s insights on the notion of truth. In the fourth gospel, truth is personal (« I am ») and inseparable from two other ideas (« way » and « life »).
