  • Abstract: The lexicon designed by Jean de Largentaye is a small French dictionary of 57 economic terms presented with their English equivalents. It is the result of the correspondence between Keynes and Largentaye which took place in 1938 and 1939. Through this lexicon, Largentaye introduced some new terms in the French economic vocabulary such as plein emploi, préférence pour la liquidité or propension marginale à consommer. The French edition of The General Theory is the only one which provides such a lexicon.
