Abstract: The four texts that make up this chapter are the result of two seminar sessions, one devoted to Proust and Madame de Sévigné and the other devoted to Proust and Dostoevsky. The famous “Dostoevskian side of Madame de Sévigné” establishes a connection between the two sessions even if the importance of this formula is relativized here in favor of the relationship that Proust, or rather his narrator and some of his characters, maintain with each of these two authors separately.
