Abstract: Bossuet's work was widely known and commented on in England at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th. Around 1830, the "Oxford Movement", whose aim was to restore the Church of England to its rightful place in the universal Church, was inspired, mutatismutandis, by Bossuet's attempts in this direction. It is this approach that lies at the heart of this article, in keeping with the previous issue of the Revue Bossuet.
