Abstract: For four brief years, from May 1828 to December 1832, Louis Bertrand worked as a journalist in Dijon, more or less rewarded by the title of editor-in-chief. He also became involved in the political life of the city, participating in actions challenging the regime—which he found disappointing—put in place by the French king Louis Philippe.
