Abstract: Fuyumi Sōryō et Motoaki Hara’s manga, Cesare, displays great ambition in its historicity, an unusual trait in graphic narrations. The authors, inspired by Machiavello’s Prince, question stereotypes about the Italian Renaissance, and offer an artistic, as well as historical, recreation of the Quattrocento.
