Abstract: It is interesting to question the denunciatory discourse of two francophone Algerian writers from two different generations, Rachid Mimouni and Kamel Daoud, through a parallel reading of two of their novels. The position occupied by the sun, a sign of fire, in these novels is such that, through its power, this celestial body seems to rule over the characters’ minds. By describing and analyzing it, one can deduce each writer’s sense of literary commitment.
