Abstract: Raymond Roussel is a singular author whose reception is equally singular. He transforms his reader into a unique being convinced he or she is the only one who has really understood. Seeking a unified view of the totality of a disparate œuvre, this article seeks to describe the work of time, a work devoid of any utilitarian outlook.
