Essai sur le lyrisme et la critique littéraire chez les Arabes (1917) par Ahmed DeifLa poésie au regard de l’un de ses commentateurs arabes francophones
Abstract: This contribution analyses the positions taken by an Egyptian student in his thesis dedicated to the history of Arabic poetry. A spokesperson for the young, intellectual Arabs seeking its renaissance, Ahmed Deif was inspired by the French Orientalists of his era and Western critical methods, thanks to the permanence of traditional representations of classical Arab poetry in France, and the emergence of contemporary multilingual poetry in Egypt.
