  • Abstract: This intervention argues that the title of Rimbaud's lost poem La Chasse spirituelle was not completely invented out of whole cloth, as one might have been led to believe. G. F. Debure’s Bibliographie instructive (1763-1768) in fact indicates the title of a work of piety from the beginning of the 16th century where this expression figures, expression and book that Rimbaud was able to consult. This assumption is based on statements by E. Delahaye and it is confirmed by a letter of Rimbaud himself of April 16, 1874 recently discovered.
