Abstract: This article seeks to take stock of and theorize the question and stakes of intertextuality in Le Sonnet du trou du cul, taking as its ekphrastic starting point an interrogation of the play of presence and absence in a scene of reading : Fantin-Latour’s (in)famous Coin de table group portraits (1872 and 1873).
