Abstract: This paper tries to highlight the presence of a song tradition that differ from folk song in young Nerval’s poetry. After showing evidences of this tradition in Nerval poems before 1830, it introduces the song writer Émile Debraux, a contemporary of Gérard who published in a couronne lyrique a since-unpublished song of Gérard called Les Pavés.
