Abstract: Quintane’s texts are infused with an irony which highlights the relativity of designations. Irony is a way of taking beings and things seriously in their complexity; qualities which in return mean recognising the fragility of all utterances. Considered in this way, irony presumes the death of ideal certainties for the benefit of the proliferation of remarks; it thus participates in the affirmation of a fantasy which refuses to be beaten or taken in.
