Les métaphores de l’équitation chez Ronsard

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Métaphore, savoirs et arts au début des temps modernes
  • Author: Ménager (Daniel)
  • Abstract: Ronsard learnt the art of horse-riding very early. He dreamt of the intoxication that comes with galloping in the open countryside. He even thought of the oratory arts in terms of horse-riding. The Ronsardian horse can also rise upwards. Horse whispering: the political dream. Between dreams, the poet also cultivates the figure of Chiron the centaur, both man and horse. A personal myth which reconciles reason and instinct.
