Abstract: This work seeks to understand what the “Americas” represent in the work of Marguerite Duras, and how her travels (United States, Cuba, Montreal) impacted the Durassian imaginary. It also aims to shed light on the links that have been drawn between the two, and on how Duras’s legacy can be seen in contemporary American creation.
