Abstract: An analysis of the Entretiens by Nicolas de Campion returns us to the question of the comte de Soissons’ faction, and the different ways of thinking about the political situation of the time. It also lets us better understand the links between action, faction, and fiction. This analysis can thus move beyond the frequent contradictions which impede the historical analysis of these texts, published by Campion a little belatedly.
