Abstract: Sinan Antoon explores the role of art in the face of violence and death through stylistic choices that entail constant reference to various arts and the use of their narrative and aesthetic tools. It is marked by an aesthetic of ”interférence entre genres artistiques” with a twofold role: to restore the collective memory of the Iraqi people and to construct a model reader represented by an “Iraqiness” that transcends confessional divisions.
