  • Abstract: Particularly noteworthy for its condemnation of Israeli occupation, the work of Elia Suleiman can only be understood through its dimension of dissent against the great national narratives of war, in Israel and in Palestine. Comedic choices produce laughter that causes viewers to reflect, reviving classic topics of debate in both cinematographic spaces. In doing so, the director enforces a personal and universal artistic reflection, going beyond the role of the witness.
