Abstract: This contribution focuses on linguistic expressions such as feelings, attitudes, and perceptions, which do not involve an animate human’s actions on the world, but a certain attitude or reaction to events in the outside world. Some of the verbs relating to these phenomena are states in a Vendlerian sense. Thus, in the domain of perception, we will contrast hearing and seeing, which are static, with listening and looking, which are active, and so on.
