Abstract: In the context of colonial Algeria, the Algerian social thinker Mālik Ibn Nabī enters his own world, gathering time and waiting, the latter perceived as “a notion of time introduced into thought and action, into ideas and things.” The resulting image is perceived through sight and mind; it shows through as it really is or as altered in various ways, in a mirror or as a non-fantasy reproduction taking place in the mind.
