Abstract: The Algerian theater was born in its Aristotelian form in the midst of colonization. Is it for this reason that its dramatists have not paid attention, in this context of resistance, to the need for theater for children? Moreover, once independence was acquired, why did the world of childhood only later interest the people creating Algerian theater? Isn’t the delayed birth of this as a genre in its own right something to be studied as a part of a retrieval of a forgotten part of history?
