Abstract: Childhood is a period Rachid O. lavishes attention on in his novels, but it is also the pivot around which questions about his homosexual identity, his family relationships and his writing revolve. This article questions the representation of childhood and its panoply of imaginary constructions as well as the symbolic structures of filiation and transmission, where they reveal the reality of the writer and show the stakes entailed in experiencing jouissance.
