Abstract: This article studies the presentation of the body in Saison de la migration vers le Nord, in particular the body of the main character, who has emigrated to London. There, the black body becomes the emblem of an identity constructed under the gaze of the Other, who turns it into an exotic body, an object of fantasy, described as primitive, bestial, cruel and lascivious. The character appropriates these stereotypes in order to use them against the society that imposes them and in order to turn their subaltern (female) position into a dominant (male) one.
