Abstract: The translation of Turkish work into French has been flourishing for several decades, but theatre represents the smallest share of this, despite the fact that there are Turkish playwrights whose works pack out the country’s many theatres. This article provides an overview of the history of modern Turkish theatre, followed by a presentation of the principal theatrical texts translated into French, and finally focusing on the work of Mehmet Ulusoy and the association the Maison d’Europe and d’Orient.
