Abstract: In her article, Roberta Capelli discusses the nature and function of the medieval patterns in the lyrics of Paul-Louis Grenier: his interest in the fantastic world of bestiaries and medieval legends, his strong attachment to the emotional geography of Southern France and his search for the evocative power of the language of the troubadours.
