- Abstract: The presidency of the Parliament has not generated a great deal of interest in Spanish historiography, unlike juridical approaches. A historical and statistical approach shows, however, that presidents of the assemblies are politicians with extensive political experience, very influential in Spanish politics, and that the presidency, far from being a form of golden retirement is, on the contrary, a springboard to very intense and active political life.
