Abstract: This article shows that the constitution of a country’s theatrical patrimony is a slow (but today increasingly accelerated) process of imitating and assimilating cultures coming from elsewhere: Greco-Latin for all Western patrimonies, also encompassing performing arts like dance, music, cinema, and the virtual arts. The goal is to promote a humanism which is as universal as possible.
