Abstract: The study discusses the perenniality and the relevance of the regulation theory born in France about forty years ago. Composed of various currents, it did not cease to call its conceptual principles in question on the occasion of changes and economic crisis. In particular, the importance of the regulationist thought for the analysis of the labour market is confirmed by its theoretical foundations which attempted to explain the changes which have occurred in the ratios labour/capital. The regulation theory can today contribute to analyze the current crisis under a new side and to bring original theoretical answers.
