Abstract: The subject of this study concerns the example analysis in bilingual lexicography and particularly in French-Italian bilingual dictionaries. In this article, we have tried to give an answer to an important question for us: what is the example utility in the bilingual dictionary? The answer is that the examples helped us above all to clarify and if – it is about monolingual dictionary – to replace the definition.
