Abstract: Words travel toward France from the southern and northern shore in a concerted dialogue that is the essence of its language, the French language. This article follows words on a journey from the southern shore of the Mediterranean and from the Middle East toward metropolitan France. The temporality of Mediterranean people seems to be that of the journey, the land and sea, love and life, adventure and religion, the internal and the real.
