Abstract: In his vast and imposing Dizionario estetico (first published in 1840), reprinted several times et with a number of additions, Niccolò Tommaseo, born in Šibenik (Dalmatia) and who spent most of his life in Italy, France and Greece (Corfu), presents some classical authors, both minor and contemporary, who share their Mediterranean origins in common.
