Abstract: Rhyming dictionaries are special vocabularies where headwords consist only of endings. In Italy the first paper models of these particular dictionaries were published in the sixteenth century. Generally on line they have a pedagogic aim or a role of games. By spreading in Internet rhyming dictionaries satisfy new generations’artistic needs and allow survival of a lexical pattern nowadays become anachronistic because of success in the contemporary poetry of blank verse.
