Abstract: Putting Aeneas in a grotesque bourgeois costume, Scarron plays with literary tradition and amplifies each episode with parodic incidents and anachronistic digressions, echoes of the political and aesthetic dissonances of his time. He forges a rich and extravagant language that culminates in Le roman comique.
