Abstract: The representation of the male in Yasmina Reza’s work is characterized by a strong opposition between the representatives of a hegemonic masculinity, which wish of domination constitutes a danger for social peace, and another kind of men who are weak, feminine and connected to family and assume the task of mediators in the dramatic conflict. Reza’s theatre underlines the deep crisis of a conception of masculinity, which associates the male only with the public sphere of power and excludes him from the private sphere.
