Abstract:Les Visionnaires (1637) by Desmarets de Saint-Sorlin and Le Poète basque (1669) by Poisson are contemporaneous with the rehabilitation of the theatre for the former, and with the affirmed legitimacy of the actor-poet for the latter. Both present some features and functions associated with the representation of the dramatic poet in the theatre of the 1630s-1660s. Likened to the pedant, archaic or provincial, this character is a counter-model to the characteristics of the authentic dramatic poet.
