Euripide sur un plateau Le poète tragique comme faire-valoir du poète comique chez Aristophane

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Le Dramaturge sur un plateau. Quand l’auteur dramatique devient personnage
  • Author: Bastin-Hammou (Malika)
  • Abstract: Aristophanes’ Frogs, a comedy that puts the two tragic poets, Aeschylus and Euripides, on stage, has often been read at the end of the twentieth century as a work presenting the dramatist’s literary and dramatic views. This article aims to place this reading in context and to show that Aristophanes is less interested in tragedy than in the formation of the social status of the comic poet.
