Abstract: This article looks at the poisoning of a child, described in the second edition of the Sepulchretum of Théophile Bonet by Jean-Jacques Manget in 1700. Comparing the account of the doctor Johann Jacob Wepfer with the medical expertise and memoranda of Wepfer and his colleague Screta allows us to reconstruct the in uiuo and post mortem diagnosis of the cause of death. The study of this case shows us that Manget’s editorial intervention respected the epistemological principles of Bonet’s work
