Abstract: Printed here are the two prose editions of Adenet le Roi’s Cléomadès that were published in the fifteenth century. Each redefines in its own way the themes of oriental folklore, fin’amor, and feudal realism. The critical apparatus in this volume allows for further appreciation of the civilizational, linguistic, and philological issues involved.
