Abstract: For Tierno Monénembo, writing is the road where, seeking to dispel his doubts, the writer deals with the need to reconstruct his identity puzzle by revisiting the roads of his filiations in order to open the Self to himself and to the world, by extricating it from its spatial, cultural and historical confinement. His traveler, faced with routs and doubts, is (re)born as a writer as if, unpredictably, the road made him aware of a latent Self buried within him like a new landmark.
