  • Abstract: Ce qui ne meurt pas does not escape an implicit comparison between painting and sculpture. There are correspondences, but above all a constant rivalry between painting and sculpture, between interior and exterior décor. The characters, Allan, Iseult de Scudemor and Camille, are referred to a resolutely Romantic pictorial aesthetic, yet ancient and allegorical sculpture systematically punctuate the story's major events.
