  • Abstract: We introduce and contextualize the core features of the Roussellian imaginary: that of a body of work defined by the pervasive influence of popular culture series, abounding in travesties, masks, games, trained animals, and singular or extraordinary beings, and which also draws from the sciences and technologies of its time, transforming them into avant-garde inventions that portend many of the preoccupations of contemporary art and philosophy.
