Abstract: Romantic comedies taking during the Holiday Season are a cinematographic subgenre on their own. Through the stories it shows, these comedies often imagine the same pathways. Every movie repeats the same ritual of loneliness, mutual discovery, conflict and love ever after. As such they are very revealing of the religious dogmas in the North-American culture. Through a few examples we will interpret the entanglement of religion, money, show business and happiness under the faithful watch of a trusting God.
