Abstract: The Nouvelles littéraires investigation « The French Conrads » comes out as Europe falls into war, between March and May 1940. Representative witness of the cosmopolitan journal claiming its difference, it highlights today little-known authors who found themselves, at the very time of the publication of their interviews, facing the dangers of History.
