Abstract: Planète sans visa of Malaquais and Les Derniers temps, of Serge are both pictures of the French debacle. The first, in Marseille, is a refuge and trap for fugitives. The second is as an initiatory journey. To the pessimism of Malaquais, seeing in Vichy a system of falsification of values, is opposed the idealism of Serge, in his story, personalities are unveiled. The closed space of Malaquais is opposed to the advance of time for Serge, which maintains a hope situated in an improbable future.
